Courses

(Web Broadcast or Hybrid)

info  Please submit requests one month before the start of the semester. This allows us to hire adequate staffing that best supports the needs of our faculty. Requests submitted after the start of the semester may take two weeks to be fulfilled should we need to hire and train new employees.

What do facilitators support?
The setup and facilitation of IVC, web broadcast and hybrid face-to-face courses, including:
  • The setup and operation of local classroom technology (e.g., computers, cameras, microphones, control systems, etc.)
  • Zoom:
    • Setup
    • Scheduling
    • In-Meeting Management (including managing participants, securing the meeting, and assisting with breakout groups)
    • Recordings
  • In-class troubleshooting
  • Best-effort remote support for students (the IT Service Desk provides full remote support and facilitators may direct students to them)
Who may appreciate a facilitator?
  • Those not comfortable around technology
  • Large courses
  • Complex courses that frequently use breakout groups or other features
  • Courses with frequent guest lecturers
What do facilitators NOT support?
  • The grading/review of student work/participation or anything related to student grades.
  • Tutoring/answering student questions on course content.

Academic Events

(Department/University Meetings, Program Orientations, etc.)

info  Please submit requests at least two business days in advance to allow us time to process the request and find a facilitator.

What do facilitators support?
The setup and facilitation of broadcasted (IVC or Zoom) academic events, including:
  • The setup and operation of local classroom technology (e.g., computers, cameras, microphones, control systems, etc.)
  • Zoom:
    • Room connection to Zoom meeting
    • In-meeting management (including managing participants, securing the meeting, and assisting with breakout groups)
    • Recordings
  • In-meeting troubleshooting
  • Best-effort remote support for remote attendees (the IT Service Desk provides full remote support and facilitators may direct individuals to them)
