Who may appreciate a facilitator?
- Those not comfortable around technology
- Large courses
- Complex courses that frequently use breakout groups or other features
- Courses with frequent guest lecturers
What do facilitators support?
- The setup and operation of local classroom technology (e.g., computers, cameras, microphones, control systems, etc.)
- Zoom:
- Setup
- Scheduling
- In-Meeting Management (including managing participants, securing the meeting, and assisting with breakout groups)
- Recordings
- In-class troubleshooting
- Best-effort remote support for students (the IT Service Desk provides full remote support and facilitators may direct students to them)
What do facilitators NOT support?
- The grading/review of student work/participation or anything related to student grades.
- Tutoring/answering student questions on course content.
