Classroom Support/Cleaning

Helpful Hints

Basic Information:

Instead of facilitating individual courses, you will work set hours as a shift. Most likely, each shift will have two facilitators assigned to it. You will work as a team to accomplish the duties for each day. These shifts will allow you opportunities to work more closely with your fellow facilitators, campus faculty, the classroom team, and the classroom equipment.

The duties of each shift will include providing support for all classrooms on campus, testing the technology to ensure it is properly working, and cleaning the equipment in each classroom. (Please note that these shifts will involve some physical tasks such as climbing ladders and dusting/vacuuming equipment.) Additionally, you will be asked to monitor the #classrooms and #classroom-maintenance slack channels throughout the duration of your shift in order to best assist our team.

Shift Structure:

At the beginning of your shift, you will come to the ITS building located just north of Aggie Ice Cream where you will collect the proper supplies, tools, and cart. Please check in with the full-time staff in the office to see if there is anything that needs your immediate attention.

While on shift, you will monitor the slack channels listed above. These channels are the team's main mode of communication to know when classroom support is needed. It is crutial you are able to monitor these channels while completing other necessary tasks. The best way to do this is have the slack application on your phone and notifications/sound turned on. If there is not anything that needs your immediate attention, you will focus on testing and cleaning the classroom equipment.

At the end of your shift, you will need to return the supplies, tools, and cart. If there were any issues you encountered while on shift, please report them to a full-time staff member so they are aware of the issues. Additionally, restock any supplies that is needed so it will be ready for the next team of facilitators.
